Straight from the guys who brought us Knocked Up, Superbad and Walk Hard, comes another hilarious movie.

The plot is straightforward - Two kids hire a low-budget bodyguard (Owen Wilson) to protect them from the playground bully.

But once you see the trailer, you’ll be in tears (I know I was) and will hardly be able to breathe. I cant wait for this film, it looks as good as Superbad.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Release Date: 18 April 2008 (USA)

Heres another one from Judd Apotow (Superbad, Knocked Up, 40 Year Old Virgin) coming out this year.

Devastated Peter (Segel) takes a Hawaii vacation in order to deal with recent break-up with his TV star girlfriend, Sarah (Bell). Little does he know Sarah’s traveling to the same resort as her ex … and she’s bringing along her new boyfriend.

This trailer also had me in stitches, and when I noticed Jonah Hill (Seth from Superbad)  and Kristin Bell (Elle from Heroes) was in this, I got pretty excited.

The Dark Knight

Release date: 18 July 2008 (USA)

This looks a goodie too….the sequel to “Batman Begins”, and, just like 1-18-08, there is a good viral marketing campaign happening with this movie at the moment. The release is a wee while away yet, so stick with the teaser!

Batman raises the stakes in his war on crime in Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight.” With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman sets out to dismantle the remaining criminal organizations that plague the city streets. The partnership proves to be effective, but they soon find themselves prey to a reign of chaos unleashed by a rising criminal mastermind known to the terrified citizens of Gotham as The Joker.

UPDATE:

Heath Ledger (The Joker) Has died at age 27 on 22 January 2008. He had finished filming The Dark Knight just a few weeks before his death. He was found with “sleeping” pills next to him.

Star Trek XI

Release date: 25 December 2008

This one is a LOONG way away, 11 months away. Its directed and produced by JJ Abrams, producer of Cloverfield, Lost, Alias and Felicity. Also Bryan Burk (Cloverfield) and Damon Lindelof (Lost) are also producing. Drew Goddard (writer of Cloverfield & Lost) is writing.

I can’t exactly speak much of this film, just letting you know it exists, theres no real information, set pictures, its all pretty top secret at this stage (Cloverfield much??) but I will update this page as soon as any real info comes out.

The teaser trailer for the film came with Cloverfield on January 18th.
